Where is the Altus Tunnel and how do I get there?
The Altus Tunnel is located on the Altus Plateau, directly south of the Minor Erdtree and directly south of the Minor Erdtree. The entrance is located just southeast of the Forest-Spanning Greatbridge, but it is at a lower elevation than the Greatbridge, so you will not be able to drop down immediately. The Greatbridge can be reached by jumping down the bridge remains to the north and then turning around to the east before continuing straight south to find the tunnel's opening.
Walkthrough of the Altus Tunnel
Beginning with the opening lift, make your way down without paying any attention to the ledges on the way down, as they do not contain anything noteworthy. Take the Site of Grace and make your way out to the first fork in the path to the right. Alternatively, you can choose to enter through the smaller wooden doorway and defeat the miner mage and flying Marionette adversaries. There is a Smithing Stone 5 hidden behind some wooden rubble in the corner of this room, along with a treasure chest that contains a Rune Arc.
Return to the outside of this room and through the larger doorway to find yourself in front of two more wooden doorways. Remove the miner mage from this location before proceeding to the next small doorway to the south. Clear this room of the three crystal snails that are protecting some Crystal Darts and Cracked Crystals that can be found along the walls. Continue forward into the larger mining area after you've looted both of the adjacent side rooms.
This mining site is guarded by three flying Marionette enemies, all of whom should be eliminated before attempting to take on any of the miners on the ground level. As soon as they've been dealt with, you'll be able to collect the Cracked Crystals and Smithing Stones 5 that have been scattered throughout the room. Ascend the wooden stairs to the upper level, where you'll come face to face with another flying Marionette and a miner mage, as well as a Somber Smithing Stone 5 along the right-hand wall and an Arteria Leaf at the end of this elevated path.
Return to the bottom of the stairs and look for an opening to the south that leads out to a large chasm with a small wooden platform on the right that has a Crystal Snail sitting in front of a Golden Rune 7. Having completed that task, proceed deeper into these tunnels by returning to the open mining area and heading eastward until you reach a passage with glowing walls, nine total Crystal Snails, another Smithing Stone 5 on the right, and a wooden door at the end of the passage. If you wish, you can take out the Crystal Snails before proceeding through the final wooden door and up against two Crystalian bosses.
