A TikToker, who narrated some of the wedding gown owner's comments in the advertisement aloud in a now-viral post, captioned the recording: "'Will be?' what age are the grandchildren of the 28-year marriage?"

The 1-minute and 5-second clip, posted by TikToker @katnaps5, starts with @katnaps5 seated in front of a brick wall as she browses the comments from the woman who posted the advertisement selling her "vintage wedding gown."

The advertisement, which is accompanied by three pictures of presumably the bride-to-be and her husband, lists the gown for sale for $800 in Las Vegas. @katnaps5 included the ad within the upper left corner, and within the upper right corner, she added snippets from the dress owner's comment.

A commenter originally asked the ad poster: "Why not save it for the kids?"

The question exposed a can of worms, and the wedding gown owner went into elaborate detail.

"If I had daughters I would, but even my daughters-in-law were too big," the girl said inside a comment back, as recited by @katnaps5 within the clip.

The wedding gown owner says she's had the gown since 1994 when she got married, and she or he had it "professionally hand-boxed to safeguard it."

Then, she made some comments about her grandchildren, as again narrated by @katnaps5 within the footage: "Even my granddaughters are going to be bigger and never fit the gown. I always hoped that certain of them would have been in a position to, this is exactly why I've kept everything these years."

"It's also why I paid to be professionally packed and preserved," the wedding gown owner continued. "Unfortunately, my boys married bigger girls, and my granddaughters may also be bigger than I am."

The wedding gown owner went into more detail about the marriage gown she wore on her behalf special day, and she or he said that it's "too bad," as the gown is "gorgeous," adding: "And the actual way it flows when walking is breathtaking. When I purchased from David's, it had been their top-of-the-line dress."

But the comment didn't end there. "I always thought among my boys would marry someone sufficiently small to put it on, or at least among my granddaughters would be in a position to wear it," the wedding gown owner said. "Well, no such luck."

She asserted she will probably send it to some bridal consignment shop, adding it offered her a lot more than she's requesting.

"I imagine those places are simply so cold, and they'll sell it for far a lot more than I was asking," the wedding gown owner concluded.

A 2016 survey published in the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology, and Education discovered that the average woman in America is a size 16 and 18.

Statista reported that in 2021, the value of the plus-size women's clothing industry was around $6.67 billion.

Meanwhile, over 700 comments found their way in response to the wedding gown owner's comments, the ones seemed to wholeheartedly disapprove.

"I think this mommy-in-law provides extensive issues she must work through," a commenter expressed.

Some people honed in on the gown owner's remarks about bridal specialty shops.

"Oh, the specialty shops are cold?" a viewer asked. "Because she just screams warmth."

Others remarked on the gown specifically. "Every single dress within the 80s and 90s looked [like] that," a viewer said. "Nothing special."
