That sums Diablo 2 up - it's a completely binary game. It's  Diablo 2 Resurrected Items either one element or any other: clean or hard, gluttonous or minimalist, brainless action or deep theorycraft. I'm glad it has been preserved precisely as it usually was in this close to-faultless and nicely-specced revival. (This is no Warcraft 3: Reforged - it has completely remade CG cut-scenes, remastered audio, pass-progression across codecs, the works.) But I dare query whether or not it has elderly that nicely. Diablo three got roundly criticised for not being Diablo 2, and indeed it is not.

It has flowing, elastic, rhythmic combat that emphasises situational cognizance and a complementary suite of competencies. Its individual-constructing grants you freedom to tinker and discover and explicit yourself, in place of sending you to the internet to crib an optimised build for fear you may get something wrong and spoil your man or woman for D2 Resurrected Items any other dozen hours. It even has some winking self-consciousness about Diablo's tortured edgelord stylings.
