Video game developer Jagex is perhaps best known for its huge Runescape series, however, many might not be aware that the studio has been expanding its offerings to include the realm of publishing and even tabletop gaming with RS Gold.

Jagex recently announced that it has agreed to a partnership with independent producer Outlier Games to publish the debut game by the studio, the spaceship management game This Means Warp. The game will launch on PC through Steam Early Access on March 17.

Created with replayability and multiplayer in mind, This Means Warp encourages players to be strategic and cooperate in chaotic, live-streamed space battles. use shrewd strategies in order to navigate their ship through the hostile, procedurally created universe.

Taking inspiration from roguelikes like FTL and games for parties like Overcooked Means Warp is a roguelike game that draws inspiration from party games like Means Warp sees players control crew members on board a ship, manning different devices, shooting weapons and performing repairs, and eventually mapping out a route through the dangerous spacevoid.

Many video games have been a source of inspiration for aspiring developers to develop their own. But it's rare to have an original piece of work taken over by the creator of the original title.

That was not the case with Brendan Malcolm, the one-man team from Australian creator Games By Malcs, whose idle RPG Melvor Idle is published by Jagex who is the creator of RuneScape the title that was at the heart of Malcolm's idea behind the project.

Melvor Idle strips away the visuals and 3D worlds of RuneScape and similar MMOs and reduces it to a traditional idle game, where players manage their skills, inventory and Buy RuneScape Gold.
