The popular and long-running online role-play video game franchise RuneScape is now available for tabletop gaming through two brand new games set to debut later in the year. Game developer and publisher of RuneScape, Jagex, has joined forces with the tabletop gaming powerhouse Steamforged Games to create both games for the tabletop and a board roleplaying game core book that is inspired by the rich fantasy realm of Gielinor.
The two games are set to debut in 2022 when the board game coming out via Kickstarter as well as the TTRPG coming straight to the stores. The games will take inspiration from adventures, characters and locations that have been a part of RuneScape's extensive heritage of over 21 years. the board game featuring one to five players on quest-based quests through Gielinor.
They'll craft and upgrade equipment, upskill their characters cooking special recipes, interact with NPCs and test their talents while exploring different areas around the world. They will also encounter a variety of enticing side quests to keep them busy and keep them entertained on the route.
The TTRPG will comprise a gorgeously illustrated, hardback, core book with rules for players to run an RuneScape tabletop role-playing game where they are able to create personal characters. They can discover Gielinor and develop unique and exciting quests. The TTRPG core book is also 100% compatible with fifth edition ruleset of the tabletop role-playing game.
