When World of Warcraft initially launched back in 2004, it drew in a massive number of players and quickly grew to have millions of wow gold classic subscribers worldwide. Apart from the sheer scale of the match, a large force behind the achievement of this MMO was the world where it was set.
Azeroth has been around since the first Warcraft: Orcs and Humans launched in 1994 and the following Warcraft 2 games farther built on the story and lore. Warcraft 3 has been probably the most popular of these ancient games and introduced us to many of the characters which would go on to play large roles in World of Warcraft, including Sylvanas Windrunner, Jaina Proudmore, and Arthas Menethil, among many others.
So when World of Warcraft launched in 2004, each of the lore, history, and locations that had been laid out from the earlier Warcraft games were brought to life within Blizzard's vast MMO.
If you've just got a few hours each week to devote to an MMO, Classic might not be the match for you and you may be better off considering modern Warcraft to fulfill that Azeroth-shaped hole. That being said, if you're not especially worried about endgame content like raiding or cheap wow classic gold max-level dungeons and only wish to explore Azeroth as it had been in 2006 then by all means, continue. But if you want to enjoy everything that Classic offers, then you should be prepared to devote a great deal of time not only levelling your personality however completing various Attunement quests and grinding standing to access a few of those late-game cases.
