Financially, Activision pulled in $1.57 billion in the third WOTLK Gold quarter of fiscal 2013 which was a record for the time period. Comparatively, Activision made $990 million in the same time frame in the previous year. Digital revenue grew 114 % year-over-year, reaching the all-time high for any period in the amount of $1.34 billion. Net earnings were $199 million, an increase from $127 million in the same time last year.
Activision reported that it had 482 million active monthly gamers in the quarter, across all its games. This includes games developed by Candy Crush developer King, which Activision owns.
In addition, Blizzard had its biggest period in its history, in terms of monthly active players, which stood with 42 million. For King, it has 394 million monthly active users during the quarter which was "down only a little." Players played 10 billion hours of Activision games in the period, according to the company.In the earnings call which followed the statement, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg stated that Infinite Warfare is not expected to cheap WOTLK Classic Gold be as successful as the game released in 2015, World of Warcraft.
