The most exciting information to be announced from the developer preview is that the class-based Tier sets will be coming back after having been not present since Legion expansion with WoTLK Classic Gold. The sets will be obtainable by playing The Sepulcher of the First Ones raid or PvP. Mythic+ dungeons.
When looking into Zereth Mortis, players will help the Enlightened, a group of brokers that arrived in the past and have devoted themselves to the quest for knowledge. While exploring, players are joined by the realm's automa to decipher the language of the past and uncover further details about Zereth Mortis' secrets. Patch 9.2 is, as you'd expect be bringing new mounts, a fresh PvP season, changes to professions, and updates to various Shadowlands system like Soulbinds.
There's no information yet about when patch 9.2 will be available, or even on when the patch will actually be made available to the game's public test realm with WoTLK Gold, but Blizzard confirms that more details are expected as the dates get closer.
WoW was recently updated to patch 9.1.5. While not a content patch it did make major fan-requested modifications to the various Shadowlands games, along with the removal or alteration of old content that the WoW team has determined to be problematic since the initial release. WoW Game director Ion Hazzikostas recently said in an interview that changes to old content are being implemented in order to make sure Azeroth is an enjoyable and welcoming environment.
The idea of taking the time to revisit some of the older content is happening in the midst of Activision Blizzard continues to deal with the fallout resulting from discrimination and harassment accusations mentioned in various lawsuits and inquiries.
Blizzard is continuing to bring up-to-date older World of Warcraft content to be less harmful, with this time the focus being on the term "greenskins" in addition to various changes to the dialogue which include the removal of more developer references as well as subdued sexual comments.
