The Reforged edition includes new animation

World of Warcraft ultimately led to WoTLK Gold, but almost 15 years of constant story-telling and world-building in WoW has rendered some older material outdated. Blizzard intends to fix that in the coming Reforged remake of World of Warcraft, by updating older pieces to reflect the world as it is.

"This is a Reforged edition. We're taking a look at the campaign in general with a focus on The Culling in particular," Brian Sousa, Art Lead on Classic Games at Blizzard said to P2Pah. "We totally redesigned the layout of the map and made it look exactly like Stratholme in World of Warcraft because people have been to Stratholme, people know the way to Stratholme, and the original didn't have any of those. The new layout had a distinct feeling. It was a place with Greek columns, and it had like bizarre statues, an aqueduct, and a zoo, and things that one wouldn't even recognize if they came players from World of Warcraft playing this game.

"That is one thing. We're thinking 'Well this could appear like Stratholme Then it got a complete overhaul to reflect this. When we continue to play through the rest of the campaign, there's sure to be many instances where we'll be relying on World of Warcraft for influence since they've got the lore, they have grounded all of these characters, these locales, and they've added an entire backstory to everything. We have a massive library to draw from."

The Reforged edition includes new animations and characters as well as remastered maps, an updated UI as well as support for 4K. The "buy WoTLK Classic Gold" edition also nets you additional bonuses from Blizzard's other games, including World of Warcraft , World of Warcraft as well as Heroes of the Storm.
