One of D2R Items the intriguing aspects I noticed was how the Stronghold System works. What effect does this have on the perception of location? Because it seems like you're liberating areas, so how does that feed into the narrative that you're telling?
Shely says: The strongholds are an important part of the world. We wanted the player to be able make changes to the world, and to be able to affect the events that take place in The world that is Sanctuary. When you come across these strongholds, you'll see various of them across the different areas.
There'll also be some that have been ravaged by monsters. By clearing them out and removing them, you'll be able make them a safe place for Sanctuary. Other characters from the game will appear and you'll have the chance to complete side quests. Further dungeons might be revealed as the consequence and the strongholds remain altered as a result of your actions towards that character throughout.
Fergusson: It's interesting. When you're playing Strongholds are, in RPG sense, situations where they are in essence private. When you go to a strongholdand you try to get rid of an area, it's a private moment. Therefore, you enter with your group to fight.
Once you've won that fight it transforms into an area for socializing. This means that it's, as Joe was just saying it could be a town, it might be a dungeon, or it could be a new waypoint to teleport to--but now the D2R Ladder Items Buy other players may be the same place.
