Ransomware Gangs Target Corporate Financial Activities
According to FBI's ransomware analysis, ransomware hackers are openly targeting traded organisations with the prospect of financial damage in order to entice ransom payments.
The Bureau stated in a statement released that activity during the last year reveals a movement toward attacking organisations as they approach "important, time-sensitive financial activities," including monthly income releases and required SEC filings, capital raising, M&A transactions, and so on.
The plan is to tighten the blackmail thumbscrews by disclosing hacked data about these occurrences if the victim does not pay the money.
Ransomware news
The year before, the ransomware person recognised as "Unidentified" and now the attackers are trying to target the financial corporates with a time sensitive and well defined strategy. There are news of the enterprises being targeted at the curtail times in their enterprise growth.
In 2020, a ransomware attack was noticed when hackers were demanding a victim to pay otherwise they will leak their information about their stocks. The threat is to negatively affect the stock prices and worth of the big enterprises.
