A developer's note in the full patch notes explains the reason for the WoTLK Gold change:
"We've received a lot of feedback from players about how aren't hitting enemies within their range results in a feel-problem for WoW combat, but also an issue with trivial encounters like farming legacy content," the patch notes note.
The developer note is further explained to clarify that, while the overall AOE damage to the ability will be increasing with the elimination from the cap the damage caused to the target will decrease.
"This option means that these skills and the classes that they are based on will continue to hold a powerful market against packs of 4 to 6 adversaries," the patch notes note. "As usual, the game's tuning will be changed as a result of this change over the coming weeks, based on your feedback from this PTR."
The AOE change is not currently live on the PTR however it will be made available in future versions. Also mentioned in the notes for the patch, but has not been talked about previously, is the fact that weather effects will be being brought to the game's two main capital cities: Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Patch 9.1.5 does not currently have a release date.
When it's finally out the patch 9.1.5 will be among the biggest non-content patches in WoW's recent history. It will also include an extensive list of requests from fans for changes set to be introduced together with brand new character creation options cheap WoTLK Classic Gold. A lot of players feel like their feedback is finally getting attention however, not until some of the biggest creators of content in WoW have made a decision to move on partly due to Blizzard's lackluster response following the launch of Shadowlands.
