NBA 2K has evolved from simply another product to be hyped within the world of gaming. It's now an iconic moment in pop culture and its intersection with pop culture, music, fashion, sneakers, and, of obviously, basketball has taken the game to levels that no other game has rivaled. In its most recent edition, NBA 2K23. the game set a new standard when it announced J. Cole as the first rapper ever to grace the cover of NBA 2K with the Dreamer Edition. While it's no surprise that 2K released a cover like this at such a late stage in the launch, the pattern of the game's own design may have suggested that this would happen one day. Even with that being said this wasn't actually 2K's idea, it was J. Cole's.
"Three and a Half Years" when he shot a ball during one of the breaks on the All-Star Weekend Saturday Night, J. Cole said 'Ronnie I'd like to be in MyCareer and help think about the possibility of that,'" Ronnie 2K tells Complex. "I collaborated with the team on bringing this to life , but it was an honor to work 2k23 mt buy with Ronnie 2K. When we announced the teaser, everyone thought that it would be another basketball player...it allows us to be a part of fashion, cultureand music which means 2K has a seat at the table right now."
