In an online blog post(opens in new tab) posted on yesterday, development team shared an update on the game's plentiful bots, and said Lost Ark Gold was "working on internal strategies for making it much more difficult for bots to enter the game".

It follows an announcement last week that stated Smilegate had "been hard at work on creating effective tools and methods to find and remove fake accounts from its game" and had banned more than 1 million "bot" accounts from its servers(opens in new window) in March.

"We know this will not solve the issue by itself and there are still bots playing the game which is why we're trying to give an assurance that this was one part of a long-running fight.

"Following this first massive ban wave, we are going to continue to release further bans to remove more bots from the game. In addition, we're also working on internal methods and tools that will make it much more difficult for bots to join the game, especially at the current rate they're created. These updates will soon be on their way to the game. "We've also heard player concerns about the impact bots may have on the game's economy in relation to buying and selling gold, and we are closely watching this issue," the post explained. "We have changed the reward for gold to silver in some Rapport as well as Guide Quest cheapest Lost Ark Gold rewards in order to prevent the abuse from these mechanisms by botters and gold farmers."
