The ability of the player to create and customize their own version of the Tarnished character is one of the most well-liked aspects of games developed by FromSoftware. This pattern was maintained by Elden Ring, but there is a peculiar absence of any kind of customization options in one particular facet of the experience. When it comes to personalization, Elden Ring has proven to be an excellent choice. The fact that it is FromSoftware's largest game to date certainly helps in this regard, as it provides players with hundreds of different pieces of armor and clothing from which to choose. The Elden Ring downloadable content can easily, and with only a few relatively minor additions, improve the Fashion Souls side of customization. Since FromSoftware has established a pattern of including new armor and weapons in downloadable content packs, it is highly likely that Elden Ring will follow suit and receive the same treatment. One type of customization choice, on the other hand, does not follow any established pattern. This would manifest itself as new looks for the Tarnished's dependable spectral steed, Torrent.
The Elden Ring DLC Requires Torrent-Based PersonalizationThe downloadable content for Elden Ring finally adds new ways to customize Torrent. One of the game's most egregious flaws is that the spectral steed does not have any customization options available to choose from. Because players spend such a significant portion of Elden Ring riding Torrent, the lack of a mechanism to customize his appearance feels like an odd decision on the developer's part. However, the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) will address this issue by introducing a brand-new menu and a specialized set of items just for Torrent. It's possible that this could include new saddles and bags, as well as different hairstyles. The downloadable content for Elden Ring could even include horse armor for Torrent. The latter could even have a connection to the gameplay, providing the spectral steed with a greater health pool when engaged in horseback combat. The Elden Ring DLC has the ability to add stallions besides Torrent. The developer-created content for Elden Ring could also take the form of making additional mounts accessible to the player. In addition to the Night's Cavalry and General Radahn, the game features a number of other foes that travel on horseback, such as other enemies.

- The only pieces of information that are known about him are that he most likely belonged to Melina, who provided the Tarnished with the whistle for the spectral steed, and that Ranni is familiar with Torrent and his previous owner in some way
- Although this amount of story is appropriate for the unconventional and understated narrative of Elden Ring, some additional exploration would be a welcome addition
It's possible that if we learned more about Torrent, it would shed light on some of the other mysteries that surrounded the other significant characters. Unfortunately, Elden Ring's downloadable content has not been announced yet, so it is unknown whether or not it will include expanded Torrent customization and expanded lore.
