In addition to not having any customization options, Elden Ring's Torrent has a problem with its lore in the sense that, despite the significance of the spectral steed to the story, very little information is provided about his past. This is despite the fact that the spectral steed is a central character in the game. The only things that are known about him are that he most likely belonged to Melina, who gave the Tarnished the whistle for the spectral steed, and that Ranni is acquainted with Torrent and his previous owner in some way. These are the only pieces of information that are known about him. Even though this amount of story is appropriate for the unconventional and understated narrative of Elden Ring, some additional exploration would be a welcome addition to the story. If we had more information about Torrent, it's possible that some of the other mysteries that surrounded the other important characters would become clearer.
Because the downloadable content for Elden Ring has not yet been announced, it is currently unknown whether or not it will include expanded Torrent customization and expanded lore.
