If the Panthers choose to go towards a new direction, and already had a Super Bowl winning MVP on their roster, it's quite possible that the perception of the league of Newton shifts from simply an injury risk into a missed opportunity. Carolina are likely to obtain something through the sale of their team, as teams are more willing to roll the dice on a winner who is proven rather than battle for it in the free market.
It appears that the Colts could have gone for Newton rather than Philip Rivers, or the Bears decide to move on from Mitchell Trubisky. There is a possibility that the Los Angeles Chargers are another possible option as a result of this circumstance. This doesn't affect the general appearance of the league nearly as much however Newton having won Super Bowl 50 makes him more of a reputable commodity.
