To its credit, Madden NFL 21 arguably has the best core gameplay the series has ever needed. AI to get defenders is powerful without feeling like Madden nfl 21 coins it cheats the system and the CPU can put up a real fight on All-Pro and All-Madden difficulties. They included more options for pass-rushing so you don't feel unworthy as a defensive lineman this year and all of the Superstar skills do a good job of earning high-impact players feel really impactful.
For example, following Ezekiel Elliott stands for more than 10-yards three occasions in a match, he becomes a lot more difficult to bring back on the first hit from the line of scrimmage. That emulates the feeling of momentum running backs experience for a match wears on where the shield will slow down and get drained, opening space for RBs to have larger profits in the second half. It becomes a bit of a chess game for each team to attempt to'activate' their Superstar players to provide them an edge in different scenarios.
The biggest loser with Madden NFL 21 though is the Franchise mode. Other than a few tweaks to the way that things such as offseason drafts and trades are handled, it is literally equal to last year's Madden. Plus, the version we get on Stadia isn't even the PlayStation 5 or even Xbox Series X|S edition of the sport, it is the PlayStation 4 / / Xbox One version. In other words, the new playcalling attributes, improved visuals, streamlined animations, and'Next-Gen Stats' integration features are all absent.
The story mode this season, Face of the Franchise: Rise to Fame, is dreadful. Voice acting is bad across the board, character animations are stiff in cutscenes, and just as things begin to get interesting it more or less ends and dumps you in merry-go-round of scripted moments throughout your career. The new mode, The Yard, tries to become an arcade-style pick-up-and-play experience, but is so watered down it fails to provide.
The fact of Madden is that if you are craving an NFL football experience then you do not really have any other options. Purchasing the sport on Stadia could show EA there's interest in more of the sports titles coming to the platform, which is a general great thing, it is just too poor Madden couldn't have a better entrance to function as its debut.

Madden NFL 21 Stadia review Stadia functionality and comparisons
Fortunately, the Stadia version of Madden NFL 21 plays great and looks excellent. As is the standard now with all the Stadia version of AAA games, it plays wonderfully and does not have any noticeable issues with lag or latency if your link is good enough. Anytime you play Madden online kicking does suffer with minor latency issues, but that is the case across all versions of the game -- not only Stadia. This year it's worse than normal so that you should absolutely expect to miss a few field goals and extra points. They need to have changed the net code for how kicking is managed or something because even on PS4 and cheap Mut 21 coins PS5 I was having issues hitting kicks just right and these issues persist at the Stadia version.
