I've a feeling that we are likely to get BOTW Zelda

There was little to Animal Crossing Items no regard for Sakurai from the west in the day. I remember there was a popular webseries of SSB pieces made from spritework and there was an entire joke of Ridley, Geno, Mega man, along with some other characters getting mad they were not in the match and Geno only fireblasting all of Japan for this. It had been just like, in retrospect, incredibly fucked up

You're correct that there was a lot of hatred and disrespect towards Sakurai, but Smash Kingdom was in great fun and normally featured a lot of dark humor.

Yeah there are some straight up death threats in there. Same could be said now here, but it would get downvoted to oblivion.

That said I really do wish Skull Kid was in precisely the exact same amount of demand now as he had been then. Zelda nevertheless has gotten no longer meaningful representation, and Skull Kid remains the best choice to give the franchise it's much deserved new fighter--and he's been mostly forgotten in talks about new characters. Skull Kid will forever be my number one pick. I'd really be very pleased with Midna or Tetra too. Just SOMEONE to represent Zelda that isn't a Triforce Trio incarnation.

I've a feeling that we are likely to get BOTW Zelda, and while I do believe that may be cool I'd be disappointed if Zelda's only meaningful representation because freaking MELEE would be yet another Zelda.

I knew someone was gonna say this, but essentially in my head she's distinct enough from Zelda to where I would be fine with it. Hell she is not even really"Zelda" before the last third of that game, and even at the end buy animal crossing bells new horizons she moves back to her pirate roots. She feels different from Zelda is basically what I'm getting at. Personality wise, design wise, everything is much more Tetra than Zelda.
