A goldfish, of all things, was able to take down what is generally agreed to be the toughest boss in FromSoftware's Elden Ring. Since its release in the early part of the previous year, players have been looking for ways to complete Elden Ring in the most ridiculous ways possible. People who are a part of the Elden Ring community are always trying to find new and interesting ways to defeat the game's most challenging adversaries, whether it be through the utilization of a Guitar Hero controller, Nintendo's Donkey Kong bongos, or some other bewildering control scheme. Now, the ridiculousness has reached a new peak as a result of a fish kept as a pet that has discovered a way to outwit a major boss. The creator's very own pet goldfish was able to beat Malenia in Elden Ring, as demonstrated in a video that was shared on social media by the YouTuber PointCrow. PointCrow made a grid that was superimposed on top of the tank in which his goldfish, which he calls Tortellini, swims. This may not make a whole lot of sense, considering that fish are obviously unable to play video games, but PointCrow did it anyway. This grid then corresponded with certain actions that would be carried out by the player character within Elden Ring depending on where Tortellini would swim within the ring.
These actions were dependent on where Tortellini would swim in the ring. Tortellini was able to swim their way to victory despite the fact that everything about their strategy was completely at random, which left PointCrow bewildered. You can take a look at the video for yourself by clicking on the following link:It is important to note that Tortellini the goldfish could only make it through the first stage of the Malenia boss fight in the Elden Ring. Still, this phase of the fight is difficult enough on its own, so the fact that a fish was able to accomplish something that a lot of players haven't is pretty ridiculous. If Tortellini were successful in defeating Malenia, it is reasonable to assume that they would also be successful in overcoming a number of other bosses within the game. Whether or not Tortellini will attempt to take on any additional bosses within Elden Ring remains to be seen.
