From this location, The Tarnished will need to make their way to the eastern part of the village, which is located just before the bridge that leads to The Omenkiller boss.2Acquire the Left Half of the Secret Medallion, which can be Obtained on the Mountaintop of the Giants. The Left Half can be found hovering just beneath their ethereal feet.3You can access the Hidden Path to the Haligtree by using the Secret Medallion. Go back to the Grand Lift of Rold and use it in the same way that you would any other time by following the instructions. In place of the previous action, you should raise the Secret Medallion in order to ascend the lift leading to the Hidden Path to the Haligtree. Players should be able to leave this area and enter the Consecrated Snowfield once they have reached the conclusion of this section. This initial patch of foggy landscape is one of the more challenging areas of Elden Ring in terms of visibility. Thankfully, it becomes less intimidating once they find the Map Fragment, which can be found underneath the standard monolith that the majority of the Fragments are under, a little bit to the north of the entrance leading out into the Snowfield.
Step #TaskDescription1 in the ProcessProceed into the Evergaol. Move through the area of the town that is filled with what appear to be ghosts until the player reaches the Evergaol, which is located near the stairs or bridge that lead up into the mountains that are behind the town.2Light the four candle flames that you have located. The specters that were seen while walking up to the Evergaol are no longer specters, and the place is crawling with invisible Black Knife Assassins and Albinauric Archers on mounts. Once players enter the Evergaol version of Ordina (this is not an Evergaol boss fight like the rest), they will need to move quickly and quietly. Even if the players are able to outrun the assassins, they will still be constantly peppered by the high-damage arrows that are being shot by the Archers, making it extremely difficult to complete this task.3Flame #1After leaving the Evergaol, travel to the western side of the Town and follow the edge of the Town as it wraps around the buildings on either side. Keep an eye out for a Ghostflame Torch, also known as a torch with a blue-ish tint, which should be located on a wall close to a ladder leading up the side of one of these buildings.
There ought to be a second Ghostflame Torch and ladder; in order to light the second candle, you will need to climb the two ladders once more
Follow the same path of rooftops heading north until you reach another Ghostflame Torch that should be visible on the right
Hop down and cross over that column, then jump up onto the roof, then head straight forward and jump up onto the slightly higher roof
6Flame #4From this vantage point, players need only make their way back to the town square, where the final statue and candle can be found sitting out in the open
In spite of the fact that there is a plethora of ways to both defeat this foe and make them visible (also known as using the Sentrys Torch), it is imperative that you either avoid or defeat this assassin in order to light the final candle
In its current location, Malenia can be found here (granted, quite a distance below it, but still)
In order for the player to pass through the Outer Haligtree, they will need to follow the branches down (being careful not to fall off), all the while dealing with Oracle Envoys and Giant Ants in whatever manner they deem appropriate
The first Site of Grace in the town that was built upon Miquellas Haligtree should be visible to players after they have successfully navigated their way through the maze of golden bubbles and descended the ladder. When the player reaches the end of this zone and passes the Battlemages who are watching over the long plank bridges, they will come face to face with Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree. She is the real-life counterpart to the specter Royal Knight Loretta that they encountered in Caria Manor. There is a story-relevant reason why she is being reused here, and even players who don't actively follow Elden Ring's absurdly deep lore should be aware of it. But let's keep our heads on straight and go over the most direct route to get to Malenia as soon as we possibly can:
Step #TaskDescription1 in the ProcessHouse of Worship and Sanctuary of BlessingWhen you first enter Elpheal, as soon as the name of the location appears on the screen, you need to make your way across the long pathway that is directly in front of the Tarnished. You should be prepared to either fight the Cleanrot Knight or get around him so that you can enter the building that resembles a cathedral. Proceed indoors and activate the Site of Grace when you get there. Keep going until you reach a small set of stairs leading a bit down and a dead body lying on a broken guardrail. There will be Haligtree Soldiers that you will need to deal with along the way. Take care of the foes that you find in the room that lies ahead, which includes another Cleanrot Knight, and then leave the area through the door on the opposite side of the room. Climb the ladder that leads back up to the Erdtree Avatar, and then get ready to run through it and the enemies that are guarding the building behind it in order to enter the structure. Again, this is a whole other large area that is definitely worth investigating in the future; however, that time is not now.
Continue to follow the branch until it brings the Tarnished to solid ground, and then continue to follow that solid ground forward until they are forced to cross a small body of rot-infested liquid. On the other side of this body of water, there should be another branch leading in a southwesterly direction that the Tarnished can walk on. Climb to the top of this second branch, and then continue straight ahead into the well-lit entryway. Players should continue to move along this branch while looking down until they come across a large diagonal stone column that is known as a flying buttress and onto which they can descend. Follow this for a short distance until you reach a small branch that will take you from one flying buttress to the next. Take the elevator in here to go even deeper, and the Haligtree Roots Site of Grace, which is the last Site of Grace before Malenia's arena, should be just ahead of you when you emerge from the elevator. And with that, players have successfully navigated their way to Malenia, the most challenging boss in the game. Bear in mind, however, that strictly adhering to these instructions will result in your missing out on the opportunity to fully explore the majority of these enormous areas, including the Consecrated Snowfield, Miquellas Haligtree, Elphael, and even the chambers that come just before Malenia herself.
