2. Defensive Role Icons: M, R, P, F, and C
Pressing RT/R2 during pre-snap will reveal letters on CFB 25 Coins defenders, each indicating their specific role in the play:
M (Mike): This icon denotes the Mike linebacker, who is the fifth defender that the offensive line focuses on during pass protection. Identifying the Mike defender is crucial for setting up proper offensive line protection schemes.
R (Read Key): The Read Key defender is highlighted during Read Option and some RPO plays. This defender’s movement helps the quarterback decide whether to hand off the ball or keep it. If the Read Key defender closes in on the quarterback, handing off the ball is usually the right choice.
