This is more private opinion, but that I also somewhat disagree with the tagging of these events as rigorously"MTX events". I have been engaging with this Artisan event without spending a dime and I rather enjoy it. So long as the option is there to RS gold finish everything without dropping money, I don't see why it ought to be shunned. It provides some nice short-term aims to work towards using a decent reward.
Yak trak is merely another form of monetisation ontop of what's in the game already. That is exactly why it ties to the match, they found battlepasses do well and knew it'd be a fantastic way to sell gold maximum. More MTX content will cause a mass unsubbing of gamers who don't actively fork out cash for MTX content. It needs to be MTX content + standard content released at the same rate and as it stands there's definitely going to go worse if we all get are far less regular updates. Pretty much many players saw last year as a dud, in all reality desperate measures should have been published with anachronia. Jagex is either poorly managing their employees or doesn't have enough to appeal to normal subscribers.
It is nevertheless an MTX event though. It is intentionally designed to get you to spend money directly on it. It's fine as content, sure, but when the real, good content has been delayed, it stings. It's also kind of empty content generally. They simply added some items you can craft that largely are lame, and its addition to additional content.
OSRS takes less to develop
Can we go back to it having an indie dimension studio? I mean we hand over our cash every month. Why would they alter their methods? How would you know whether an MTX voucher was postponed? A number of them aren't announced beforehand. We receive one every week and that's how it's been for a long time. They haven't missed a week was exactly what I supposed. They have not missed a week since the promotions require next to no work? I hate mtx, but are you seriously trying to compare the minuscule quantity of work needed for a TH voucher to that needed for something like quests, new areas, reworks and supervisors?
No I'm not trying to directly compare the period investments of cheap RuneScape gold. Remember when we were advised gwd3 would come summer 2020, then summer 2020 comes and jagex is like"oh we have just started development on gwd3" that is an issue.
