HoYoverse has confirmed an update for the PC version of Genshin Impact which will add support for that PS5 DualSense Edge controller. Currently, Genshin Impact supports PlayStation 5 DualSense and Xbox Series X|S controllers on PC, but a recently released controller is missing from the list of supported devices.
Genshin Impact is regularly updated by HoYoverse with additional features, content, and optimizations. The recent version 3.5 update introduced new playable characters and events for Genshin Impact players to see in both Mondstadt and Sumeru. Genshin Impact version 3.6 is anticipated to arrive this April, and also the update can include support for just one of Sony's newest controller releases in 2023.
HoYoverse updated its official FAQ for wireless controller support in Genshin Impact, revealing that official support for Sony's DualSense Edge controller is originating soon towards the PC version. In a future update, Genshin Impact players that wirelessly connect a DualSense Edge controller to their PC can change key bindings and adjust angle sensitivity. The Genshin Impact developers state the brand-new feature isn't complete right now, and further optimizations are now being made to ensure compatibility with that DualSense Edge. As a result, HoYoverse didn't provide a specific date and time for that upcoming PC update. Once the update is released, more work may be required to optimize the DualSense Edge controller's performance in Genshin Impact.
Although DualSense Edge support is coming towards the PC version, HoYoverse didn't comment on potential DualSense support for that iOS version. Genshin Impact supports DualShock 4, Xbox Wireless, and Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 controllers on PC and iOS, however, the iOS version currently lacks DualSense support. Players may connect a base DualSense controller for their PC using a wired USB connection or wirelessly via a Bluetooth link with play Genshin Impact. However, DualSense controller vibration isn't supported via a Bluetooth connection on a PC.
DualSense Edge support is an extremely promising addition for Genshin Impact on PC, but more updates are usually necessary to bring controller parity between your existing PC and iOS versions. Moreover, Genshin Impact fans still clamor for controller support within the Android version according to the FAQ's comment section. The lack of controller support for Android grows like a source of frustration inside the player community.
HoYoverse plans on sharing more details about the brand-new Genshin Impact PC update soon. In the meantime, fans may anticipate Genshin Impact version 3.6 the following month with a special program live stream preceding the update's arrival.
