WOODSMAN OF NEVESK OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGY

  • The Woodsman of Nevesk: Goals and AimsThe time-honored practice of questgivers outsourcing their work is still going strong: a woman who has been hired to find a cursed axe will share some of the reward with you if you are successful in your search for the item

  • Walkthrough for the Woodsman of NeveskSpeak to MagdalenaOh, Nevesk - what warm feelings we have when we think back on this adorable little town

  • Who among you could possibly forget being compelled to consume the blood-soaked petals of the Mother of Sanctuary's very own flower

  • Pleasant times

Nevertheless, it seems as though Magdalena is not having nearly as much fun in the town as we are; not only is she grumpy and cold, but she also cannot locate the cursed axe that her employer asked her to retrieve. You play a role in this, don't you?

You can see on your quest map that the only information she has is that a Woodsman who lived outside of town regularly used an axe to commit multiple murders; however, she does not provide you with a particularly useful starting point from which to narrow the search. Find the Woodsman's AxeHead by heading east out of town and then heading to the far north of where the quest location is indicated. You'll find an abandoned cabin at the top of a hill, in a small clearing, with a strangely shiny and menacing-looking axe in the wood pile in front of the cabin.

It's as easy as grabbing something out of someone else's hands; we get the axe, run back to town, and take the gold. But wait, why is a huge cloud of blood forming after we touch it?

The Woodsman is a little peeved that you tried to steal his axe; if you can bring him down to size, you can take the axe as your prize, despite the fact that it is very cursed. D4 items (read more) is time to visit Magdalena. It won't take you too long to walk back to town, but if you want to make the trip even quicker, you can always take the Waypoint. Magdalena is relieved that you have returned and is eager to leave this place as soon as possible.

Honestly, we get it. Nevesk gives us the heebie-jeebies too.

Hints and Advice from the Woodsman of NeveskAt the conclusion of the quest, Magdalena will let you know that she is prepared to return to Menestad; this is a hint that will lead you to the next quest in the chain, Chain of Possession. Do not forget to pick up the Waypoint in Nevesk; a surprising number of quests and activities lead you to this part of the Fractured Peaks, and it is not exactly an easy walk from Kyovashad to get there. If you didn't get it during the Prologue when you were first leaving Nevesk, there is an Altar of Lilith just outside of town via the east gate. It is numbered 24 in our overview of Altars of Lilith. It is likely that you already have it.

The Rewards of the Woodsman of Nevesk+20 Fractured Peaks are given out by the Woodsman of Nevesk. Renown, gold, and experience that is proportional to your level, as well as a Murmuring Cache.
